Final Opening Two Minutes - That Should Be Me

Sound being used in our film

We've decided that we don't want any sound throughout the opening of our film, we only want music so that it sets the mood and atmosphere of the rest of the film. This is because we wanted out audience to focus on whats going on instead of having to listen to dialogue or sound effects.

The Title for our film

We have chosen that the title of our film will be called 'That Should Be Me'. We chose to use this name as we wanted the name to be about what Holly is thinking. We also chose this as it is not to long and its a title that would stick in your head and make you want to watch the film.

Opening music for Romcoms

Each Romcom has a certain piece of opening music, such as in A Cinderella Story it has a peaceful/floaty feel to it to show that it is a fairy tale. Most films use music that suites the opening section and to the audience it is aimed at. Such as for an older audience they would most probably have a soft and quite soundtrack so that it would appeal to the older audience. For a young audience they would have an upbeat and lively piece of music to draw in young people.

Music for our film

The music we decided to use was by a local band. We wanted to use a band as they are a modern band and there music is modern and that's what we wanted. We also wanted to use there song 'In Flames' as its a fast and upbeat song which suggests youth and that teenagers live an upbeat and energetic lifestyle, and this song did exactly that.

Camera we used when filming

This is the camera that we used while filming. It is Panasonic HD Camera. It is small and easy to use, which was a good thing as it made it easier to transport from each location. We also use a tripod so our shots will be steady and made it easier to do our tracking shot with.

Our own distributor

Halt Films

We choose to make our own distributor as while editng we tought that we should have own and by having Halt Films it is short and catchy, so people will easily remember it.

Final Titles

we changes some of our titles while editing and our final titles are as follows:-

T1 - Fly Productions
T2 - Rachel Howe
T3 - And
T4 - Natasha Kingscote
T5 - Present
T6 - A Halt Film
T7 - Music by Reality Check
T8 - Costume by Natasha Kingscote
T9 - Introducing
T10 - Russell Stocker
T11 - And Rachel Howe
T12 - That Should Be Me

For our titles we choose to have different coloured writing to show youth and energy. We also had different fonts to also show this.

Our Titles for "That Should Be Me"

Sound/Music

Editing

So far our editing has been fine and me and Natasha have both been doing it together and shared it equally. we did however have a problem where our film wouldn't open and we couldn't edit for a couple of weeks until a technichen could sort it out for us. We are no able to open it and we have carried on editing and are hoping to finish in the next couple of days and meet the deadline that we have set our self.
